Districts of Rajasthan – Rajasthan is the largest state of India by area and 7th by population. Rajasthan is a state in north India covering 10.4 % of the total geographical area of India. Comprising the Thar desert on the western side.
Rajasthan, meaning “House of the Rajas,” was formerly called Rajputana. Prior to 1947, when India gained independence from the British government, it consisted of about a dozen provinces and monarchs, a small British-controlled province of Ajmer-Merwara, and a few territories outside the greater border. An area of 132,139 square kilometers (342,239 square kilometers). The total population of Rajasthan is 68,621,012 according to the census of 2011.
How Many Districts Are in Rajasthan?
Previously there used to be 33 districts of Rajasthan but on 17th March 2023, the chief minister Shri. Ashok Gehlot declared a list of 19 new districts with Jaipur and Jodhpur districts to be divided into 2 parts , hence Rajasthan now has 50 districts in total.
